Becky Colburn | Baby Shower | Bucks County, Pennsylvania
Having the opportunity to photograph a maternity Client's baby shower doesn't happen often, so when Becky formally invited me to her July 30, 2017 baby shower, you better believe I was there. Attending gave me the chance to see her in her element - surrounded by the women closest to her, dare I say, showering her and her little one with love, adoration, and joy.
When I walked into the Hampton Green Clubhouse the first thing I noticed was the huge window bringing in an abundance of light. (I let a sigh of relief escape because when I don't get the opportunity to check a location prior to shooting, I am left in limbo regarding light). I met Becky's Sister, Mother, and Aunt as I navigated my way inside, and automatically realized where Becky's charm and zest for life came from. These women were glowing with smiles and ready to be there if someone needed something...anything.
As Becky opened her gifts ("The Giving Tree", a handmade quilt made by her Aunt-in-law, a bundle of her baby books gifted back to her by her Mother, a handmade sheepskin rug, and a childhood friend's guardian angel plaque just to name a few) her appreciation for the graciousness was written all over her face and through the tiny tears that escaped her eyes, here and there...
A sweet message I received from Becky: "Elizabeth, you captured all the love, laughter, and joy from the day. These moments will remain in my memory and heart for all my life, and I cannot wait to share them with the baby. Many thanks to you...".
